Boosting Our Capacity: 2016 Seminar On Information Technology Application For Developing Countries
Over the past months, several staff of the eGovernment Agency seized the opportunity to develop and strengthen their ICT and related skills. These opportunities came in the form of ICT-based training courses/seminars sponsored by the governments of the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of South Korea, and the Republic of India. This series of articles will focus on each participant’s reflection on the experience. Today, Mr. Clarence Garraway, Acting Director of Enterprise Solutions, shares his recent experiences and lessons learnt from his participation in the 2016 Seminar on Information Technology Application for Developing Countries hosted in the People’s Republic of China.
In June 2016, Acting Director of Enterprise Solutions, Clarence Garraway, completed a 4-week training course titled: “Information Technology Application for Developing Countries”. Among other things, this programme gave him the chance to really appreciate the cultures of participating countries as well as the host country. Through his participation, Guyana is now part of an ICT network which is a real platform for them to share and test ideas for modern and advanced solutions for each country’s eGovernment programme.
