Hon. Minister of Public Telecommunications Ms. Catherine Hughes and Advisor on e-Governance Mr. Floyd Levi are among the more than 350 esteemed delegates from 115 countries attending the Tallinn e-Governance Conference 2017 being held in Estonia from 30th to 31st May 2017.
The conference which was formally opened by H.E. Mrs. Kersti Kaljulaid President of Estonia, was also addressed by Guyanese H.E. Dr. Patrick Ignatius Gomes, Secretary General of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) group of countries.
Participants who are drawn from ACP countries were treated to a special programme on 29th May 2017 which showcased Estonia’s lauded e-Governance model. Officials will also be exposed to innovative e-Governance solutions implemented in countries such as Namibia, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Serbia, Mauritius, and Kenya. Hon. Minister Hughes is expected to be a member of the ICT in the Service of Sustainable Development Goals panel. The conference is being facilitated by the Estonian e-Governance Academy, which is a non-profit non-governmental organisation established to create and transfer knowledge on e-governance and e-democracy
