Job Summary:
The Business Analyst(BA) plays a critical role in identifying areas for improvement within an agency’s operations and processes. They are responsible for conducting research and analysis to develop a thorough understanding of business needs and requirements. They work closely with stakeholders across various departments and government agencies to develop detailed business requirements and specifications that guide solution development.

The Business Analyst’s main responsibilities include analysing data to provide insights and recommendations, monitoring progress to ensure solutions meet business objectives, and providing training and support to end-users to ensure successful adoption of new solutions.The BA typically works within a Project/Product team that interfaces with a DevelopmentTeam on software projects/products.Additionally, they keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in business analysis to remain at the forefront of their field.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments and government agencies to understand business needs and requirements.
  2. Conduct research and analysis to identify areas for improvement in business processes and operations.
  3. Develop detailed business requirements and specifications to guide solution development.
  4. Analyse data to provide insights and recommendations to improve business performance.
  5. Work with project teams to ensure that solutions are implemented in a timely and effective manner.
  6. Oversee the performance of User Acceptance Testing with end-users for new software products in ensuring fit-for-purpose and fit-for-use for end-users.
  7. Monitor and track progress to ensure that solutions are meeting business objectives.
  8. Develop and maintain project plans, and schedules in collaboration with team members.
  9. Provide training and support to end-users to ensure successful adoption of new solutions.
  10. Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in business analysis.
  11. Assess vendor proposals for feasibility and highlight recommendations as required.
  12. Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements:

  1. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminates significant amounts of information.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  3. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft productivity products, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  5. Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle.
  8. Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Proficiency in technical artefacts used to guide engineering teams in solution development.

Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Scienceor related field
    Or
  2. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)or similar certification

Experience:

  1. At least three years work experience in the industryas aBusiness Analyst or similar role
